CLASSES Spinning Yarns offers classes year round. We repeat our basic Pick-Your-Project Class every two months. We also occasionally run specialized classes, such as Sock Workshops. Our current schedule is listed below. Pick-Your-Own-Project Class
Get the support you need to conquer knitting in our Pick-Your-Own-Project Class. Bring something you need to finish, or start a new project that you want to challenge you. Next round starts week of September 7th. Any level of knitter is welcome in the six-week class.
Space is limited to eight students and reserved with full payment. Cost $65. Sundays 5 - 7pm

Thursdays 9 - 11am or 6 - 8pm Classes start first week of January, March, May, July, September, and November. Saturday Specials We are going to have a new workshop every month on the second Saturday from 9-11am. This class is designed to introduce you to something new or help you hone your skills in a specific area. September: Finishing Techniques Saturday 9/11/2010, 9-11am. Cost $20 Learn some easy techniques for seaming and assembling your knitted pieces. Please bring in an unfinished garment or several swatches, a darning needle, and some yarn. October: Crochet for Knitters Saturday 10/9/2010, 9-11am. Cost $20 Learn some basics for applying crochet edges, seaming with a crochet hook, and more! November: Beading Your Knitting Saturday 11/13/2010, 9-11am. Cost $50 includes pattern and yarn In this class we will get you going on a beaded scarf. This scarf would make a beautiful holiday gift! Basic knitting skills required. January: Intro to Fairisle Saturday 1/8/2011, 9-11am. Cost $50 includes pattern and yarn You will get started on a fairisle hat using two colors of Cascade 220. Basic knitting skills required. February: Entrelac Scarf Saturday 2/12/2011, 9-11am. Cost $50 includes pattern and yarn We will create a lovely entrelac scarf using Mochi Plus and size 9 needles. Basic knitting skills required. March: Needle Felting Chicks Saturday 3/12/2011, 9-11am. Cost $30 includes kit Try your hand at needle felting with a little yellow chick. All materials provided. April: TBA Saturday 4/9/2011, 9-11am. Cost $ May: Finishing Techniques Saturday 5/14/2011, 9-11am. Cost $20 Learn some easy techniques for seaming and assembling your knitted pieces. Please bring in an unfinished garment or several swatches, a darning needle, and some yarn. This workshop is just in time for our UFO contest! June: TBA Saturday 6/11/2011, 9-11am. Cost $ July: Knitting with Kids Saturday 7/9/2011, 9-11am. Cost $30 includes needles and yarn Introduce kids to basic knitting skills in this workshop designed for those age 8 and up. Size 8 needles and a skein of Lamb's Pride will be included. No knitting experience necessary. August: Intro to Magic Loop Saturday 8/13/2011, 9-11am. Cost $25, needle and yarn extra Get started on knitting in the round with a magic loop needle. A 40" circular need le is required, and we recommend Addi's. We will start you on a pair of top down basic socks using this technique. Pattern included. Basic knitting skills required.
